The English Riviera is one of the most beautiful landscapes Britain has to offer. I was planning a trip there for a short break in January when I decided it would be nice to photograph some editorial styled images along the bleak winter coastline. Sometimes it’s nice to shoot images outside of your comfort zone and try something a bit different. I had a think, scratching around on google and then putting together some ideas in a pinterest board. After sharing this online, I began chatting to Cuban’s Mum. They live locally and were interested in collaborating to see what we could create together. Plans made, we headed down to the beach. It was freezing!! Typically, we managed to pick one of the coldest, windiest weekends of 2019 so far. Instead of stopping at a single location, we decided to photograph a few images before going back to the cars, warming up and moving to somewhere different. This meant we could keep warm, and work our way along the coastline making sure to include cliffs, beaches, fishing harbours and tourist attractions along route. Cuban was a true professional, managing to pull off all the looks and think of great ideas whilst battling the elements. Here’s a small selection of the final images … ‘Winter Wool’. Enjoy.
If you have any photoshoot ideas of your own why not drop me a message. I’m always open to suggestions for things a little different and would love to see what we could create together.
